1557543_704561846231999_539429781_nThe Credit Facility Agreement will be signed between the Government of India and the French Development Agency for a Euro 180 million long-term loan for Kochi Metro project tomorrow, February 7th, at 3pm in New Delhi. The agreement will be signed by Mr. Rajesh Khullar, Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Mrs Anne Paugam, Chief Executive Officer of the French Development Agency, in presence of Mr Elias George, Managing Director of Kochi Metro Rail Limited.
His Excellency Mr. François Richier, Ambassador of France to India, also will participate in the signing ceremony as a co-signatory to the Credit Facility Agreement. The event will be held at Kalpavriksha Hall, Department of Economic Affairs.
Mrs Anne Paugam is visiting Kochi on Saturday 8th, to sign the Project Agreement between AFD and KMRL. She will have discussions with MD KMRL and other senior KMRL officials about the project and the urban transport landscape in Kerala.
The agreement between AFD and KMRL consists of a Euro 180 million direct sovereign loans with a repayment period of 25 years including 5 years moratorium aimed to support KMRL to implement the first metro line in Kochi. KMRL has also requested AFD to provide technical assistance for preparing a workable action plan for the realization of UMTA on ground.
