The Chief Minister Shri. Oommen Chandy would call for a meeting to discuss the issues pertaining to the progress of the Kochi Metro Rail project. The meeting would be held at Thiruvananthapuram early next month to figure out the solutions for the burning issues, which is affecting the progress of the project.
Senior officials from all concerned departments like Finance, Revenue, PWD, KSEB, KWA and representatives from Cochin Corporation, GCDA would participate in the meeting along with KMRL and DMRC officials to discuss the impediments related to the progress of the project. The issues like land purchase order which will permit Kochi Metro to buy land directly from the owners as the new Land Acquisition acts are yet to be in place, St. Albert’s College ground, L.A of Vytilla –Petta road, extension of the Metro to Thripunithura, fund for Pachalam ROB, Edapally flyover etc. will be discussed the meeting.
The meeting also will discuss the ways to improve of the traffic conditions in the city.
