A technical team led by CMRS (Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety) has completed the two-day long inspection of Kochi Metro’s second reach the extends from Palarivattom to Maharajas Stations. The team led by K.A.Manoharan was received by Elias George, Managing Director of KMRL at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on September 25, 2017. On the first day, the team did a thorough inspection on technical and safety aspects and commuter facilities at the stations. After completing the inspection of station and viaduct, two of the trains were placed in the new section. CMRS have boarded the train and examined the dynamic passenger comfort and ride parameters. The team has tested the safety features of the train in the single train and multiple train modes. The CMRS team also visited the Operation Control Centre (OCC) to inspect the signaling and telecommunication systems.

Praveen Goyal, Director (System), KMRL, Thiruman Archunan, Director (Projects), KMRL, Dani Thomas, Project Director DMRC and other senior officials were also present during the inspection. The CMRS team has expressed satisfaction regarding the preparedness of Kochi Metro Rail to open the new stretch and has given the safety clearance for starting the commercial operations fromPalarivattom to Maharajas.
